JP’s sister scored a heck of a deal via Groupon to a local African Safari about an hour outside of their hometown. She comes from a very up-for-anything wacky family, so it was no surprise when her sister, mom and us were totally down for this adventure. The safari was a ride-through park where you can feed some animals that will walk straight up to your vehicle in search of some carrots or animal feed. It was a gorgeous sunny day, but with four women in the car, we chose to drive through and not risk losing an arm to a bison.
Most of the animals seemed to be deer or antelope and were soooo stinkin cute just trotting after the car. There were some doozies, however, as the bison walked right up to your vehicle and there were some very large horned cattle that came up to us for a close-up view. Through the exhibit we spotted some alpaca, a zebra, and some camels as well.
Some of the animals would stick their heads in the cars! It was crazy! And it was so funny to watch all the deer chase after the cars when they knew food was being scattered. Very interesting experience overall!
