Eat Chicago: Molly’s Cupcakes

The bestie came in to visit for Pride weekend, from Texas and on our Saturday morning of errands, we stopped by Molly’s Cupcakes in Lakeview for a sweet pick-me-up.  The bestie is a “secret” baker and said she saw them on Cupcake Wars once and then stopped in for a sample and fell in love. JP and I love cupcakes too, so we were totally on board.  The store front is in a very busy area in Boystown/Lakeview area of Chicago. They do have a pretty crowded entry-way, making it difficult to see what cupcakes are in there case for the day (especially when 4 eager little girls are oogling the goods as their parents order). The neatest thing they have, is a build-your-own cupcake option. You pick the base cake, the frosting and then extra goods like sprinkles, fruit, etc.

After heavily contemplating what sweet  treats we wanted, I settled on the Peanut Butter and Nutella cupcake, JP got the Coconut Cream and the bestie got the Red Velvet. Of course, when we got back, when the bestie was showering, JP and I immediately dove into our cupcakes (hey! whats the point in buying them if you aren’t eating them!?). My cupcake was to-die-for. Peanut Butter cake with nutella baked right in the middle. It was seriously super moist and the most heavenly thing I’ve had in a long time. JP and the bestie were both ultra pleased with their selections as well.

Peanut Butter & Nutella…on clearance Christmas plates 🙂

I would definitely say to stop at Molly’s if you’re out and about in the Lakeview area of Chicago. You won’t be disappointed!
