Bachelorette Party aka Girls Gone Wild

One of my very best friends, Mary, is getting hitched this Saturday, and JP and the rest of our gal pals celebrated Mary in style this past weekend. It was great to get out of the house and have a night out on the town and event better that it was to celebrate someone wonderful. There was a group of about 12 of us that started the night at a local restaurant (and one of my personal faves) called D.S. Tequila.  D.S. has a cute indoor patio (it’s usually open in the summer) and sectioned off an area for us and provided some fun little “firecrackers” that we took full advantage of.

After dinner, the group went to a gay bar next door for a drink and a surprise visit by two of our friends that stopped by to wish the bride-to-be a happy night and share a drink with everyone. After fun at the bar, we gathered the group for our next “stop” which we told the B2B was a bar across the street but was really a stretch limo filled with alcohol that we were taking around town. FUN! I had some reservations about being stuck in a limo but it was actually a really great time and not so expensive since we brought our own booze for the 2 hour drive.

We ended up downtown and stopped by the Water Tower place to snap some pics and then hopped back in the limo to return to our last stop of the night – a bar so that Mary can meet up with her fiance’s bachelorette party (yup – 2 bachelorettes!). Before we could hit that last bar – it seemed like everyone in the limo HAD to go to the bathroom (yours truly included). That’s what happens when you mix unlimited drinks and a 2 hour car drive. So after hitting a McDonalds that clearly closed 4 minutes before we got there … we all climbed back into the limo and tried to find Plan B which happened to be a teeny tiny no-man’s bar called Bob Inn that we completely invaded with our lesbian bachelorette party fun. Yes, you read that right … not Bob’s Inn but Bob Inn. Very interesting.

JP and the Bob Inn sign.

After Bob Inn, we all jumped back into the limo and headed to our last bar which was a complete bust because it was filled with club dancing “bear” gay men (Google the term if you’re unfamiliar but beware – I’m not sure what you’ll get in your search and you’re forewarned), and headed down the street to the only other gay friendly bar with dancing music playing – Hamburger Mary’s Attic, which ended up awesome. The bar had a few people there but not enough where we could spread out and have a good time.

We had so much fun and I know the brides had a great time too! Can’t wait til their big day this weekend!
