Eat: Lincoln Whiskey Kitchen

JP and I were out and about the other day in a suburb of Chicago called Schaumburg. When we hit the mall – we hit Schaumburg and we were up for making some returns and running some errands. We also found ourselves starving and with a billion different food options in the popular area, we struggled to land on a decision that had us both excited. We drove past Lincoln Whiskey Kitchen, which is off of Meecham Rd., and have noticed it before always telling ourselves that it looks like a cool place that we’d like to try. So, I popped a U-turn and headed to try out this restaurant for lunch!

When we entered, we saw that it had a rustic theme complete with dark wood trims and booths, and barrels streamed along the back walls. It was actually really clean, and cute and we mentioned what a great wedding venue it would be because it’s so open and airy inside with the bar area opened to the main dining/seating area. The wait staff was really friendly and our waiter seated us when we arrived. There were only a few other tables with people so the place was really wide open in terms of availability. The music at the restaurant was actually super awesome (hello Valley girl) with 90s hits and some “old school” jams that were pretty neat.

We poured over the menus where they had tons of options, mostly your standard American grill fare including burgers, salads, and entrees. We settled on the Pulled Pork Nachos for an appetizer and were excited to see they came without beans, which JP does not like. It’s hard to find nachos sans beans! The nachos were amazing! The bbq sauce was tangy and sweet, and the cheese was melted perfectly over the chips. It was very tasty and we quickly inhaled the entire appetizer. It also had a tangy chipotle ranch sauce drizzled all over it that was really tasty, as well.

For our main meal, JP selected the fish and chips which she raved about and I opted for the Southern Chicken Salad without the chopped eggs. I was surprised that the salad came with warm hand-battered chicken pieces – usually on salads they’re cold but it was soooo awesome to have the warm chicken. I loved it. It was also tossed in ranch, and had large crunchy bread croutons, large pieces of sliced avocado (heaven!) and crispy pieces of bacon sprinkled over top. Yum! I loved it – the entire meal was super delicious.

I would recommend eating here if you’re ever shopping in the Woodfield mall area. Very great ambiance, delicious food and friendly wait staff. It is a little pricey depending on what you order, but they do have some wallet friendly options, as well. I think if I would to return I’d opt for trying a sandwich like the Classic French Dip or Tender Steak Sandwich! Yum, I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! 🙂
